From among a strong field of 30 entries, the design submitted by Cynthia Scott, Andrews Air Force Base, MD., was selected as the winner in the American Firsdt Day Cover Society 50th Anniversary Logo contest.

Scott's design will be used throughout 2005 as the golden anniversary emblem of the soceity.

Because of the strength of all the entries in the competition, the first round of voting resulted in a three-way ties for first place. A tie-breaking vote was required before the winner was selected.

Tied for second were designs submitted by Dave Dube, Helena. MT, and James Helzer, Cheyenne, WY.

The winner receives an AFDCS life membership (a $500 value) and a cash prize of $250. Since Scott is already a life member, she may transfer the prize to any other AFDCS member in good standing.
