In 1981, the American First Day Cover Society introduced the now popular "Court of Honor" series. It's purpose was to create a series that would honor those pioneer cachet artist who have brought our hobby so much beauty and pleasure.

Each cachet of this series is designed by a different cachet artist and each artist has distinguished him or herself as a cachet artist of some renown, hence the name "Court of Honor". Each of these select artists designed a cachet around the Christmas theme and one design is released each year.
