- The results for the 2005 AFDCS Board of Directors election have been announced. There were 129 valid ballots received before the
deadline. The five candidates receiving the most votes will serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors beginning January 1, 2006 and ending December 31, 2008.

- The AFDCS General Counsel has released a statement regarding the current BOD election.

- Congratulations to Andrew McFarlane for winning the Grand Award at AMERICOVER 2005
for his exhibit, First Days of the 1929 George Rogers Clark Commemorative. Kurt Laubinger's exhibit Hand Drawn/Painted Cachets of Vaughn Hord, 1980-1993 won the
Richard H. Thompson Award for Best Exhibit of U.S. FDCs (other than the Grand Award). The palmares for AMERICOVER 2005 are now online.
- Congratulations to Dave Bennett for winning the top award in the 2004 Earl Planty Cachetmakers Contest. See a listing of all the winners here.
- Steve Ripley received the AFDCS Distinguished Service Award at AMERICOVER 2005 from
AFDCS President Tom Foust.
- At AMERICOVER 2005, Honorary Life Memberships were awarded to Michael Mellone and
Dottie Graf for their years of volunteer work to the society. This is only the eightteenth and nineteenth times in AFDCS history that an Honorary Life Membership has been granted.
- It has been announced that AMERICOVER 2006 will be held just outside of Cleveland, Ohio on
August 4-6, 2006. Preliminary hotel information for AMERICOVER 2006 has been posted.
- Note that the AFDCS Headquarters address has changed, effective immediately. It is now P.O. Box 16277,
Tucson, Arizona 85732-6277.
